We have created Love on top by Beyonce using Jelly Babies. Throughout making this video I have learnt different editing techniques by using Final cut Express. I learnt how to in sync the beats of the music to the video by transition eg. fast transitions for upbeat music. We arranged seven jelly babies into altering colours and chose purple as Beyonce. We positioned the camera on a tripod in order to prevent the photos from being in different camera angles, thus creating the flow of jelly babies movement. On each image taken we placed the jelly babies into the order and movement we wanted it to look like.
We then edited the total 30 images we have taken using final cut express , through using final Cut i have learnt how to shorten and lengthen the time of the photo appearance on the video, this allowed us to time the transition to the beat of the music.
This music video used a variety of camera angles and editing. The alternating camera shots between the girl and the boy clearly suggests to the audience that they are the main subjects in the video, it also shows a narration of a girl liking a guy and the idea of her trying to impress him. The artists Carly Rae Jepsen played as the main girl which fitted to the lyrics of the song hence exposing the new artists to the public.
The yellow colour effect used throughout the video created a summer look continuing the idea of summer romance.
This music video is based around the narrative of a male cheating in a relationship and what would the female do if the situation is reversed, this was demonstrated by the use of monochrome effect from the beginning of the video which suggests the past,then changing into colour at the end returning to the reality in addition the slow fade transitions used created a dream like effect encouraging the idea of a female imagining what it would be like if she acted like her boyfriend.
This music video illustrated constant dancing throughout the video showcasing a typical pop video. The quick transitions between the scenes of Lady Gaga singing and dancing are in sync to the beat therefore engaging the audience. A long shot of her on crutches shows her coming back from being paralyzed and enticing the paparazzi to add to her fame.
This music video demonstrates the love and adoration he feels for someone. The lyrics if I lay here, If I just lay here would you lie with me and just forget the world?, this shows us that he wants to spend the rest of his life with that certain person which matches the video showing him on different locations lying on the floor this could also suggest that he feels free and powered when he's with this person. The slow pace of video editing gives an insight to the audience that time slows down when he thinks about that certain person.
This music video by Michael Jackson showed a narrative of michael dancing for his girlfriend to convince her not be scared, I like this video as it was presented as a short movie. Famous artists are allowed to do this as this will draw attention to them by doing something different to their video thus promoting themselves further.
Love on top music video was entirely made into dancing which have enticed the audience to enjoy the music and convinced the audience to copy the dance. In addition the choreography in this video is perfectly in sync to the beats of the music.
